Your Role:
Based in San Francisco, CRI is a top tier commercial furnishings consultancy focused on excellence in workplace strategy and design. The Ancillary Department is a creative branch of CRI that functions as a consultant for architects, designers, clients, and internal CRI team members. The Ancillary Curator will provide client curation services, which includes but is not limited to creative product recommendations that meet project parameters, develop, manage, and track product specifications, and generate high quality design deliverables.
This role is eligible for our Flexible Workplace policy, where there is an expectation to work from our San Francisco office 2 days a week.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provides ancillary furniture solutions to meet project budget, schedule, and design aesthetics
- Works with CRI design department to ensure the suggested products fit and scale supports the design intentions, and they are documented on CAD drawings
- When appropriate, will assist in initial furniture tagging
- Generates presentation package with detailed furniture specifications and images
- Attends client meetings and team meetings to capture changes in a timely manner
- Presents design package to internal/external project team if necessary
- Leads finish/fabric meetings with client/design firm to execute final product specifications
- Supports and works with A&D firms to present CRI’s capabilities to clients and provide curation services
- Works with Principals and Account Executives on presentations to assure A&D needs are considered
- Supports Project Managers and team members in budget pricing and specification guidance as appropriate
- Maintains and tracks project documentation, vendor communications, specification decisions, client approvals, and attends all project meetings as necessary
- Manages adherence to project deadlines and maintains a high quality of design work
- Maintains vendor relationships and stays current on product updates, discontinuations, trends and new releases, as well as visits local showrooms and meets with local reps
- Responds to team requests for ancillary product information and clarification on both project and transactional requests
- Participates in the education of CRI employees on ancillary product trends and applications, new products and vendors, and shares findings with the ancillary department in monthly meetings and during UCRI a few times a year
- Represents CRI as a brand ambassador during industry events and meetings
- Attention to details and organized;
- Strong communication and collaborative skills;
- At least 3 years of experience in interior design and/or within a contract furniture dealer, consultancy, or adjacent organization;
- Bachelor’s Degree in interior design, architecture, dealer work experience, or related field, preferred;
- Knowledgeable in ancillary product, specification process, sourcing ancillary furniture; proficient in requesting product quotes, discounting, and pricing practices, as well as budgeting skills;
- Has a creative eye and passion for furniture and interior design;
- Demonstrates initiative at work, able to work independently as well as within a collaborative environment;
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including public speaking;
- Demonstrates commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in business transactions, and to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction;
- Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, deadline-intensive environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and PowerPoint, and preferred experience with TruView and 2020CAP (Software training available if needed).
