Under the general direction of the Accounting Supervisor, performs professional level compilation of accounting and financial analysis information and maintain accounts payable records. Must have experience adhering to Accounting & Finance Departmental management directions for updating and reconciling a variety of accounting records, reports and provide support with internal reviews and external audits to ensure compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide excellent customer service.
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Prepares analysis of accounts, as required, when requested.
Maintain accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
Must be able to gather and analyze information in a timely manner. Assemble and process audit documentation, under general direction. Perform filing and copying of accounting and finance documents.
Prepare cleared financial documents for storage.
Must have ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Must be well versed and current in state/federal and local policies and regulations related to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Welfare Reform, Employment Services, TRADE, Jobs Education and Training (JET) and other applicable programs in support of all funding sources.
Ensure the integrity of financial data in the accounting system is in compliance with federal, state, and local government accounting standards.
Collaborate with other staff throughout the system, assisting with financial related inquiries or problems.
Manage competing demands and demonstrate ability to be flexible with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Must have the ability to discern highly confidential materials and documents.
Adhere to requirement and ensure accounting and finance department follows all policies and protocols.
Perform related duties as required.

A minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, plus (2) two years of full-time professional level experience desired, but not required, with a non-profit organization’s accounting or finance department.
Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License – Position may require field work.
