 The Virtual RN Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) that works as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting general care processes, providers, and patients in an ambulatory community-based setting. The Virtual RN Supervisor will oversee the Virtual RN Team, support the growth and development of the Virtual RN team through coaching and discipline, act as a clinical resource, and ensure the site RN team adheres to Westside’s clinical and operational standards, policies and procedures in all aspects of their work. The Virtual RN Supervisor also works as a Virtual RN and is responsible for evaluating and assessing patient’s health care needs based on nurse assessment, clinical judgment, nurse process and evidence-based clinical support tools.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties and responsibility most reflect the expectations of this position, but are not intended to be all inclusive: 

  1. Provide leadership and support to Virtual RN team, including maintaining team schedule to ensure adequate coverage, completing performance reviews, orientation and training, performing monthly chart audits of RN team; participating in the recruitment, interviewing and orientation of new RNs and providing ongoing training, support, additional training and remediation as directed by the Associate Director of Clinical Operations; and continuously practicing, enforcing and educating staff regarding safety standards.
  2. Oversee assigned nurse team performance of their daily tasks as described in their job description to ensure work is completed efficiently and in accordance with Westside’s standards, policies and procedures. Delegate tasks to Nurses as necessary and appropriate, utilizing a synergistic approach.
  3. Participate in recurring meetings with Associate Director of Clinical Operations and any other meetings at the request of the Associate Director of Clinical Operations. Participate in the development of clinical policies, procedures, workflow and staff development. Provide support with education and implementation of workflow changes resulting from the addition or revision of policies and processes. Serve as a member of the Nurse Leadership Council
  4. Evaluate outcomes of care coordination efforts by measuring interventions effectiveness and fostering a continuous improvement mentality.
  5. Provide ambulatory care support as a member of the care team, which includes, but is not limited to telephone triage
  6. Maintain compliance with all professional and organizational requirements to meet position standards.
  7. Ability to efficiently perform the core responsibilities outlined in Virtual RN Job description; participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives; other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
  1. Graduate from an accredited Associate Degree of Nursing program AND minimum of 5 years’ experience in ambulatory care setting or comparable
  2. Active RN licensure in the State of Delaware with no restrictions or disciplinary action
  3. Current BLS certification
  4. Ability and availability to work 40 hours per week, including rotating Saturday coverage
  5. Current Ambulatory Care Nursing Certifications (RN-BC)
