Description

Teall Sports & Entertainment is looking for a Vice President of Team Member Experience to lead the Human Resource functions for its portfolio companies. This position is responsible for originating and leading the strategic vision, practice and objectives for all Human Resource functions throughout all portfolio companies. Help create and lead an employee-oriented, high performance culture. Directly responsible for the smooth and beneficial operation of the company's human resources department and overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource functions.

1. Oversees the development and maintenance and management of a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs. Ensures the system and technology support the established employee life cycle and culture celebrated by the organization. Assists with the maintenance and management of all employee personnel information in said system.


2. Creates, leads and manages the employee performance review process; responsible for writing fair, equitable and measurable performance evaluations for all companies and all positions; responsible for working with correct technology contacts and vendors to ensure systems are in place to effectively and successfully administer the reviews; ensures proper and thorough communication to all supervisors regarding the review process; ensures proper and thorough communication regarding timing of the employee performance review process; ensures proper and efficient training for all managers responsible for conducting evaluations.

f. Ensures timely completion of all reviews; ensures proper compliance is followed; maintains completed documentation of all reviews; conducts yearly evaluation of documents used and the process in which reviews are performed and makes suggested edits to ensure company objectives are being met and that the feedback process is effective, productive, and efficient for all team members.


3. Responsible for creating and coordinating a company-wide Impact Day whereby all employees will have the opportunity to participate in a day of service in their local communities. With the assistance of the other team members in the Teall Talent Institute, the following aspects will be included in this coordination: partner with local community or service agency to secure a project for each of the Teall Sports & Entertainment offices; ensure proper internal communication to build excitement, education and accountability for the initiative; in larger office markets, works to coordinate a liaison in each office to ensure logistics are confirmed and followed-through, accurately; partner with local news outlets to help share the impact of the company’s efforts.


4. Responsible for the development and timely updating of the company’s policies and procedures. Works with Senior Leadership of each company to make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters and communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.


5. Responsible for working with hiring managers and key leadership team members on creating and updating all job descriptions in each company.


6. Works with each company’s Senior Leadership team on providing a Total Rewards Program for employees in all portfolio companies. This Total Rewards program should be consistent across all entities in the Teall Sports & Entertainment family of companies. This program can include, but should not be limited to: financial Compensation; bonus plans; medical/non-medical benefits; paid time off; flexible work schedules; ancillary benefits


7. Based on budget parameters, works to establish a fair and equitable financial compensation plan for all positions for all companies. Conducts research to map company compensation plans to comparable markets and industries.


8. Works with Senior Leadership of each company, where applicable, on bonus plans, objectives, strategies, action plans and metrics used to incentivize team members, motivate greatness and reach company and personal goals. Additionally responsible for proper, clear and consistent education of how the bonus plans work. Works with each company to ensure proper reporting mechanisms are in place for program integrity and credibility.


9. Oversees employee departures: coordinates and conducts exit interviews; ensures that proper follow-up and learnings from all exit interviews is thoroughly and timely communicated to management and recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization based on said learnings; confirms and ensures personal information is accurately recorded in HRIS.


10. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, on personnel matters.


11. Assists with the management of the company’s benefit plans including but not limited to: assists with the insurance bid process with company’s third-party administrator and insurance providers for all applicable policies.


12. Works directly with department managers in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters. Ensures all promotions and salary increases are timely, accurate and in line with industry standards as well as goals and objectives of position. Manages a course correction plan if team members are not performing at the level of job requirements, not adhering to company stated policies and values, or negatively impacting the company’s culture and day-to-day work environment.


13. Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization.


14. Supports and is responsible to serve as back-up for all Payroll functions: processes new team members through Paylocity payroll system once on-boarding process is complete; maintains all documentation on payroll changes; processes payroll according to company payroll policies; provides cash requirements to individual company finance contacts prior to processing payroll; provides payroll journal to the applicable individuals to review for accuracy before payroll is processed each week.


15. Works to foster positive employee relations and teamwork by following and supporting the organization’s policies and procedures; communicating effectively with all operating units, complying with all federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and ordinances in discharging duties; assisting in the internal training and development programs of the organization; and embodying the values of the company and contribute to the special culture with energy and commitment to our shared success.


16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What makes you a good candidate?

  • At least 8 -10 years of HR experience
  • Bachelors' degree
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently and as a team -- be a self-starter and collaborative depending on needs
  • Strong organization, communication, follow up and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
  • Experienced in managing numerous projects at once within a fast-paced environment; time management is key
  • High level of initiative, specifically in the areas of company growth and process improvement
  • Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, character, honesty and commitment to excellence
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the company
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
