Description

Various Positions Available: Including but not limited to Construction Inspectors, Engineers, Construction Schedulers, Cost Estimators, and CADD Operators. Applicants with Construction Management and Project Administration backgrounds are encouraged to apply.


Various Locations Available: Throughout the United States


Position Type: On-site and Remote options available


The positions will provide various Federal Government organizations with consultative support services in construction program management and related services. The consultative support services could range from renovation to new construction projects, to include pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims service, administration services, and technical specialty services.


Duties/Responsibilities: 


Construction Inspectors:

Senior: Provides senior leadership and mentorship. Also, performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used; verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations; notes deficiencies and deviations from plans; refers serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to leadership. Maintains, updates, and assures the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation and project files. Provides safety oversight. Reviews change orders and requests for equitable adjustments (REA) and advises leadership on validity in scope and price.

Junior: Performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used; verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations; notes deficiencies and deviations from plans; refers serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to senior manager. Maintains, updates, and assures the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation and project files. Provides safety oversight.


Engineers: Provides consultative services regarding the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures. Provides guidance to senior management in terms of technical quality, cost, and schedule.


Construction Schedulers:

Senior: Senior leadership and mentorship. Also, prepares and analyzes sequencing of activities and interrelationships of activities. Prepares schedules to support program and project accomplishments. Revises project schedule to conform to project decisions. Supports managers in all scheduling activities.

Junior: Prepares and analyzes sequencing of activities and interrelationships of activities. Prepares schedules to support program and project accomplishments. Revises project schedule to conform to project decisions. Supports managers in all scheduling activities.


Cost Estimators:

Senior: Senior leadership and mentorship. Also, prepares and analyzes sequencing of activities and interrelationships of activities. Prepares schedules to support program and project accomplishments. Revises project schedule to conform to project decisions. Supports managers in all scheduling activities.

Junior: Performs construction cost estimates. Makes quality take offs. Assists Project and Construction Managers in negotiations with contractors or vendors.


CADD Operators:  Maintains revisions to contract drawings and makes architectural and engineering sketches and prepares CADD drawings to support field management related to building construction or renovation. 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:


Construction Inspectors:

Senior: Ten years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation. Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittals logs, etc. Also, field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control are essential skills. Professional experience should also include ability to read and interpret construction documents. Experience with Procore preferred.

Junior: Five years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation. Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittals logs, etc. Also, field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control are essential skills. Professional experience should also include ability to read and interpret construction documents. Experience with Procore preferred.


Engineers: Seven years of experience in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, etc.) and construction management of buildings and structures. Familiarity with scheduling, cost estimating, and overall design integration is necessary. Professional experience should also include ability to review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction and specification documents.


Construction Schedulers:  

Senior: Ten years of experience in planning and scheduling associated with building construction projects. Experience with Primavera P6 and MS Project required.

Junior: Seven years of experience in planning and scheduling associated with building construction projects. Experience with Primavera and MS Project required.


Cost Estimators:

Senior: Ten years of experience in planning and scheduling associated with building construction projects. Experience with RS Means required.

Junior: Five years of experience in construction of facility projects. Knowledge with detailed takeoffs associated with material and labor items as related to construction activities required. Strong skills in math and spreadsheets also necessary. Experience with RS Means required.


CADD Operators: Three years of experience in technical project coordination, preferably in architectural-engineering industry.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience in document control and management, updating of project schedules, etc. Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.


Education and Experience:


Construction Inspectors:

Senior: Associates Degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal construction apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 14 years of directly related experience.

Junior: Associates Degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal construction apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.


Engineers: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited University.


Construction Schedulers:

Senior: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University. Graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 14 years of directly related experience.

Junior: Associate degree from an accredited University. Graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.


Cost Estimators:

Senior: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University. Graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 14 years of directly related experience.

Junior: Associate degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited University. Graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal apprenticeship program. Educational requirement may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.


CADD Operators: Associate degree or graduate of an accredited Technical School. Educational requirement may be substituted by five years of directly related experience.


Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense (DoD) Position of Trust (Tier 1 level investigation) or National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Current NACI, Position of Trust, or higher preferred.
  • Must be able to utilize their own personal vehicle for local travel on site as needed.
  • Potential for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typical of those employees who perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the specific job and may include regular visits to active construction sites. Salary Range:?Compensation based upon experience, skill level, and locale.Job Type: Full-Time (40 plus hours a week).
