Senior Accountant

Role Overview: A Senior Accountant’s main role is to support the preparation, management, analysis and reporting of the company’s financial records as an integral member of the accounting team. The role is responsible for entering transactions into the general ledger system, executing monthly closing procedures, and reconciliation of financial statement accounts.

Responsibilities: (The following is a list of responsibilities of this position, but is not intended to cover all duties that this position may be required to perform from time to time.)

  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including posting necessary journal entries
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation and monthly credit card reconciliation
  • Maintain fixed assets and perform annual review of assets
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Lead audit engagements and provide supporting documentation for annual financial statement review, 401k audit, and ESOP audit
  • Full-Time employees: Available to work 40 hours per week, plus additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
  • Advanced Excel experience (pivot tables and v-lookups)
  • Experience with ERP system
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Attentive to detail, high degree of accuracy and well organized.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • The Senior Accountant must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. 
  • The Senior Accountant’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly sedentary.
  • This position is primarily in an office environment. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
