Description

New Wave Design & Verification (“New Wave DV”) is looking for an experienced Technical Engineering Program Manager (“TEPM”) to manage technology development programs using New Wave DV’s high-bandwidth, low-latency networking systems, products, and design services.


The TEPM is responsible for leading staff, developing proposals, planning, leading, and managing internal and customer-funded development programs that combine hardware, firmware, and software technologies. The position is responsible for program scope, schedule, budget, risk analysis, and mitigation following New Wave DV development and quality processes. The TEPM will coordinate program objectives and performance with New Wave DV strategic plans, business pursuits, and product roadmaps.

Requirements

The candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills, and at least three years’ experience managing technology development programs. Must be a collaborative leader with a successful record of leading teams of talented engineers to achieve program and business objectives. Must have a record of successful customer relationship management, a sense of urgency, and experience with product quality assurance.


The ideal candidate will have experience leading network system hardware and software design teams with FPGA and software driver content. PMI certification or equivalent experience and training are also a plus.


Responsibilities:

· Manage resource planning and staff allocations.

· Prioritize projects and task assignments for direct reports.

· Provide technical guidance where needed.

· Lead and participate in business development proposal efforts to capture new business opportunities.

· Manage customer relationships – communication, planning, status, and issue resolution.

· Define program objectives and establish the program plan and deliverables.

· Identify and quantify risks; generate and execute mitigation/contingency plans.

· Monitor, control, and report program progress and performance using earned value management methods.

· Identify and control scope changes.

· Escalate issues and risks for resolution as appropriate.

· Track program deliverables and ensure timely completion.

· Identify and implement program management process improvements.

· Collaborate with business development on product roadmaps and strategic plans.

· Support the Director of Engineering and Program Management in managing department, budget, and initiatives.


Qualifications:

· A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or a related field of study plus at least 8 years of development experience is required for this position.

· At least 3 years experience as a project/program manager.

· Previous management experience is preferred.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

· Demonstrated technical program management experience.

· Ability to motivate and lead teams and individuals toward identified goals.
