Position: FBO Customer Service Associate I

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Assistant FBO Manager

Location: Luxivair SBD, San Bernardino International Airport

Starting Salary: $17.36 an hour with full benefits


DEFINITION:

The FBO Customer Service Associate is responsible for all customer service tasks at the front desk of the Fixed Base Operations (FBO) at Luxivair SBD.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direct supervision from the FBO Manager. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide all customer service tasks related to the front desk of the FBO.
  • Greet and assist flight crews and passengers.
  • Assist with fuel requests car rentals, hotel accommodations, catering, ground transportation arrangements, pilot supplies and other ground support items.
  • Provides general information to customers including but not limited to: instruction and assistance regarding FBO programs, services, amenities and local services found in the local and regional community.
  • Answer multiple telephone lines, takes and relays messages, and makes appointments.
  • Communicate with pilots and ground crews using handheld radios and proper aviation verbiage.
  • Understand, process and accepts payments for fuel and services.
  • Assist with daily reconciliation of sales and balance cash drawer.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to management.
  • Conduct weekly inventory of pilot supplies for resale and other amenities offered to FBO customers and guests.
  • Maintains a professional and friendly rapport with customers, guests, stakeholders and staff.
  • Safely operate motorized equipment including golf cart, rental cars and crew cars.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment such as computer fax, copier, information and image management systems, copiers, sorters, viewers and other office machines to enter and retrieve data, produce and/or process, materials to include correspondence, memoranda, reports, numeric data and statements.
  • Problem solve on site issues which may impact the FBO customer experience.
  • Responsible for keeping facility orderly, stocked and in a professional state.
  • Establishes, maintains, and fosters positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the public, vendors, contractors, and agency staff.
  • Performs other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the FBO.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and at least 2 years previous experience in direct customer facing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience in airport service environment and familiarity with airport processes, documentation and systems, and point of sale systems preferred.


Conditions of Employment

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.
  • Successfully complete background check to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required.
  • Completion of a 10-panel drug screen for all substances deemed illegal by the Federal Government
