Manage plant engineering and maintenance resources to achieve plant goals in areas of safety, quality, efficiencies, throughput and cost reduction. Responsible for continuous improvement of products, processes, and equipment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet or exceed departmental metrics and KPIs.
Evaluate potential projects and conduct project feasibility analysis.
Manage plant capital projects for maintenance of business and cost reductions.
Lead and direct the work of assigned engineers and technicians.
Ensure alignment of plant continuous improvement programs to plant performance metrics and business goals.
Develop and implement cost reduction programs.
Coordinate plant engineering programs to incorporate new product development and technology.
Support and receive new product introductions.
Plan and direct plant engineering programs and activities to design, modify, or improve equipment and/or processes.
Determine root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.
Ensure procedures and specifications are updated in accordance with ISO9000.
Comply with required legal regulations including OSHA and EPA.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with other Cormetech manufacturing plants to facilitate sharing of best practices.

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, Mechanical, Ceramic or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
10+ years progressive experience in manufacturing.
3+ years supervisory experience.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Experience with process controls and PLCs.
Familiarity with CAD.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work independent of direct supervision.
Demonstrated the fundamental characteristics of leadership of teams and departments.
Master’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, Ceramic or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience with ceramic mixing, extrusion and heat treatment processes.
Experience with metal fabrication processes.
Experience with equipment / machine design.
Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
Project management experience.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
