REVELXP is currently looking for a passionate individual to work with our finance team to execute daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and administrative processes. As the Accounting Specialist, you will report to and support the Sr. Director of Accounting in executing key accounting processes for our company. The successful candidate will have great attention to detail and organizational skills and also be highly motivated to solve problems encountered in day-to-day operations.
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
- Serve as point of contact for all company expense reimbursement processes and reporting resulting from company paid credit cards (i.e. Divvy, AMEX, and ServisFirst VISA) and personal business expense reimbursements. This includes cardholder support, budget (limit) maintenance, vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and monthly accounting utilizing Divvy and Expensify.
- Reconcile Divvy, AMEX, and ServisFirst VISA statements to posted transactions as part of monthly close process.
- Support development of company credit card program and system procedures and employee expense reimbursement guidelines.
- Support the accounts payable process and weekly payment processing schedule by assisting with bill.com and vendor system maintenance, engagement with budget owners and expense approvers regarding invoice approvals, and preparation of selections for payment.
- Create invoices as needed and according to contractual payment schedules to create accounts receivable and deferred revenue. Deposit checks to bank and apply payments of checks and/or electronic payments to accounts receivable.
- Monitor accounts receivable and produce internal reports and KPI’s to assist collection efforts (e.g. accounts receivable aging reports and open invoice reports).
- Assist weekly and monthly revenue recognition accounting and reconciliation of deferred revenue and accounts receivable originating from QuickBooks invoicing procedures for Premium Hospitality and other recurring university invoices, Concierge Sales, Collegiate Events, Venue Solutions, Ticketing, and for revenues recorded via Maingate (e.g. FSU and Kansas).
- Ensure state sales tax registrations, business licenses, and any other local/state requirements to keep REVELXP entities in good standing.
- Maintain sales tax resale certificates for all states in which REVELXP operates. Provide required information for certificates, organize and maintain approved documentation, and fulfill all customer and vendor requests for certificates on demand.
- Support the development of and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
- Project management of process improvement initiatives intended to make REVELXP accounting more efficient and effective.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE?
- Proficiency in basic accounting principles
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Business
- Minimum (2) years in operational accounting environment
- Direct experience recording transactions and making adjusting entries
- QuickBooks Online certification or equivalent expertise gained through direct use of QuickBooks software
- Problem solving and process improvement skills
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
