Welch Fluorocarbon, Inc. is currently looking to fill the role of 2nd Shift Quality Technician. Since 1985, Welch Fluorocarbon has specialized in providing thermoformed and heat-sealed products to a variety of customers. We utilize the best, thin, high-performance films.

Essential Tasks:

  • Perform and record in-process quality inspections per QPM0120, Process Checks on jobs running in manufacturing.
  • Perform final shipping release inspection per QPM0092, Final Inspection and Release of Products for Shipment.
  • Enter customer-required electronic data prior to shipments (ex. inspection data).
  • Learn the requirements of the Welch Quality Management System and participate in external audits (ISO, customer, etc.) as requested by Quality Team Leader.
  • Perform internal audits as assigned per the annual internal audit schedule.
  • Develop and maintain Incoming Inspection Policies and Procedures.
  • Inspect incoming materials.
  • Maintain Incoming Inspection equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain an active inventory of consumable incoming inspection supplies.
  • Identify and recommend new equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare and distribute Incoming Inspection Paperwork.
  • Maintain Incoming Inspection logs and records.
  • Provide reports on incoming inspection activity as requested.
  • Maintain the Incoming Inspection area.
  • Participate in team corrective action and problem-solving sessions as necessary to support customer quality requirements.
  • Make updates to Welch procedures, WIs, etc. as assigned.
  • Provide training support/instruction for team members as requested by Quality Team Leader.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Quality Team Leader.
  • Will be given Manufacturing tasks to complete from time to time.
  • Perform product testing per customer requirements when necessary.
  • Suggest and make improvements on any quality related system.
  • Other duties not expressly listed above or that may be required in the future.


Requirements
  • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED.
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Windows computer user interface, popular business applications (ERP Software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Browsers, Email, etc.). 
  • Able to prioritize tasks in an efficient manner in order to meet deadlines.
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with team members and customers.
  • Ability to perform dimensional inspection using all current measuring instruments at Welch Fluorocarbon.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the visually acuity to inspect parts and distinguish between conforming and nonconforming parts
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
