Position: Patient Liaison
Reports to: Director of Compliance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Full Time)
Compensation: $40,000 to $48,000
Location/Travel: Corporate Office – San Antonio
Job Summary:
The Patient Liaison at Empower Behavioral Health (EBH) is a key part of the Billing Department. This role is responsible for sending requests, tracking authorizations and entering authorizations into Central Reach. This position is required to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the patient authorization process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates closely with the Billing Supervisor
- Tracks concurrent authorizations
- Sends authorization requests as needed
- Reviews Treatment Plans and Diagnostic Reports
- Enters approved authorizations into Central Reach
- Answers heavy incoming calls
- Performs outbound calls to families and insurance funders
- Generates Monthly Patient Invoices
- Utilizes Central Reach and Insurance Portals
- Maintains updates to the authorizations and benefits tracker
- Tracks diagnostic due dates
- Communicates with clinicians and responds to their inquiries
- Able to handle heavy calls and caseload

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with authorizations
- Experience working in a medical billing setting
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred:
- 1+ years of experience with behavior analysis
- 1+ years of experience working with Central Reach
- Experience working in a growing organization
