Job Description – Service Technician 

Reports to: Service Foreman

Position Overview

The Service Technician’s responsibility is to investigate and repair defects that are contributing to the building’s leaks. The Service Technician is to learn industry standard methods in making quality repairs to multiple types of roof systems. The Service Technician must have the capability to communicate effectively to the Service Foreman.    


The Service Department is a team designed to create a partnership between Maxwell Roofing and the Customer. The Service Department manages customer service functions including emergency roof services, roof maintenance, and MAXCare®. The Service Team consists of the VP of Services, Service Coordinator, Superintendent, Estimator/PM, and the Service Crews. The Sales Department, specifically the Account Managers, works closely with the Service Team to assist with customer partnerships and work requests.  


The “Service Technician” is responsible for the following essential functions:

  • Follow the safety procedures in place
  • Investigate reported leaks
  • Repair roofs per industry standards
  • Learn from the Service Foreman
Requirements

Key Results:

  • Safety: Following the safety guidelines per Maxwell Roofing’s safety program 100% of the time
  • Attendance: Being present and on time every day
  • Zero unexcused absences per month
  • Skills: Learn proper repair methods. Passing PSW Grade = 6 per year 
  • Morale: Behavioral score > 45


Key Activities: Their Day-to-Day Activities / Responsibilities.

  1. Shows up to work on time and presentable
  2. Stocks the truck per Service Foreman’s instructions
  3. Listens/learns (to) the Service Foreman’s instructions on proper repairs and techniques
  4. Investigate leaks
  5. Cleans and prep roof for repairs
  6. Makes industry standard repairs
  7. Material handling
  8. Clean up all debris
Salary Description
$16-$20/HR
