Description

The Director of Yardi is responsible for the management of a team and oversees all technology activities of the Yardi platform. Collaborating with IT team members, business partners and vendors, the Director of Yardi will lead the Yardi IT strategy development and streamline workflow and integration strategies. This is a dynamic role incorporating a blend of project management, executing the business application architecture and roadmap, and aligning it to the business strategy. This role is also responsible for supporting core internal business functions (Operations: Leasing and Resident Services; Finance and Accounting; and Property Management). The position works with various internal business stakeholders to identify scope, prioritize, and implement additional functionality that meet the stakeholder’s needs, as well as external resources to ensure proper implementation. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and manages Yardi support team and various technology support vendors. 
  • Partners with the business to provide insight and guidance on effectively utilizing and further leveraging the Yardi platform and functionality to meet and streamline business needs while minimizing customizations. 
  • Annually review and manage long-term business applications architecture and roadmap.
  • Provide forward-looking vision when designing solutions to meet current and future flexibility, scalability, exception handling, and reporting and integration requirements.
  • Align business area needs with long-term business applications architecture and roadmap
  • Conducts performance evaluations of staff to support team development and optimize team performance. Effectively manages difficult situations and timely addresses issues when needed.
  • Oversees property onboarding, complex product implementation and conversion services; analyzes and interprets operational needs and determines initial system configuration; and performs data mapping and conversion, user training, and other services to ensure successful software deployment.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external teams serving as a point of escalation and leadership to ensure timely resolution; monitors support activity to identify trends or emerging issues and recommends solutions.
  • Drives effective partnership, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple internal and external teams with competing priorities.
  • Closely collaborates with all team members to understand and identify key interdependencies and critical roadblocks, identify potential issues, and appropriately aligns with the needs of the organization.
  • Implements communication plans for meetings and written reports and/or meeting minutes to keep management and project resources informed.
  • Manages the Yardi support team, comprised of employees and consulting staff to ensure they effectively address issues and support business partners.
  • Ensures Yardi support team is provided with the proper support and training to be successful in supporting Yardi software.
  • Identifies repeat requests and performs root cause analysis to recommend solutions to reduce repetitive requests.
  • Makes recommendations to resolve access issues and ensures proper segregation of duties; implements changes while ensuring all changes impacting the company are communicated in a collaborative and timely fashion.
  • Stays abreast of new functionality, oversees upgrades and the testing of enhancements to ensure accuracy, integrity, timely delivery.
  • Develops and ensures all team members adhere to department policies, procedures and standards in the development and implementation of software
  • Provides key metrics to Head of IT on team productivity and performance on regular basis.
  • Maintains license and unit specifics and coordinates pricing with Head of IT, effectively managing the number of licenses for the various Yardi modules based on usage.
  • Adheres to tight deadlines and quick turnaround for deliverables and communicates progress and issues timely and effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

To perform the job successfully, the following skills and/or experience is required to qualify for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Real Estate, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 Years’ demonstrated experience in a comparable management role. Experience in property management, affordable, or multi-site management is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership experience enriching, guiding and leading junior staff to forge a highly effective and productive team.
  • Superior communication – both written and verbal, presentation skills with strong customer service and excellent verbal / written communication skills. 
  • Prior experience managing enterprise system implementation and upgrade projects in a complex cross-functional environment required. 
  • Prior experience with data management and reporting methods (i.e., SQL) and application integration concepts is preferred. 
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Motivation and strong organizational skills to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make decisions and recommendations to multiple lines of the business.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
