The floating aide plays an important role in Clarke’s preschool program by insuring that students are cared for in a safe and enriching learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher or assistant. As needed, and if no classroom staff are absent, the floating aide will assist in different classrooms throughout the day that may be in need of more support, supervision of children, bathroom assistants, or other related activities.
The Floating Aide also acts as the project coordinator for the Clarke Family Literacy Program, working with the development associate and the program director to implement terms of the grant related to monthly book disbursement to Clarke families.
This is an hourly position. The general hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-2:30, working the same schedule as preschool students. The Floating Aide reports to the director of Clarke NY.
