Expectations for SF Day Employees:

Position Summary 

The After School Program Leader position is vital to supporting students on-site at San Francisco Day School.  This involves regular lesson planning, delivering lessons to groups of students, supervising safe play, helping resolve student conflicts all while keeping our students and community safe.  


  • Has experience leading youth programs 
  • Proficient technology skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office
  • Lesson Planning Experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills



  • Lead a group of students in an after school program setting
  • Regular daily lesson planning 
  • Collaborate with teams to help design and implement an interdisciplinary, thematic-based, experiential curriculum.  
  • Participate in all aspects of the program throughout the day
  • Foster a love of learning in every student
  • Prepare and clean up spaces daily
  • Maintain the safety of each student, supporting our health and safety guidelines while on or off campus.

Working Conditions:

  • 90% Indoors, 10% outdoors 
  • Ability to move around the classroom and playground to attend to individual or small groups of students
  • Occasional requirement to lift more than 30 lbs
  • Stand for an extended amount of time

Per CA statutes, all School employees should be able to pass a Federal and State background check, provide a negative TB test, and maintain professional behavior during the period of employment. The employment offer is contingent upon these requirements.
