A CMS Mechanical Superintendent supervises craft workers assigned to an area of responsibility; serve as liaison between the Operations, Project Management and Trades Teams to ensure that construction deliverables comply with drawings and specifications. The Mechanical Superintendent will take a lead role on-site to ensure that their projects are completed on time, on budget, and with a level of quality that meets or exceeds CMS’s and the customer's expectations


Essential Functions:

· Plan the work schedule, determine manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements

· Manage all subcontractors on the projects

· Monitor work performance and productivity of trades team to ensure project specifications, procedures, quality, and safety requirements are maintained

· Manage on-site meetings and distribute schedule updates and meeting minutes

· Complete daily documentation requirements, including productivity reports, and jobsite photos

· Advise the Project Management Team of potential problems, work interference, and schedule difficulties; assist in working through/resolving such problems, as required

· Liaise with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. are timed appropriately for project execution

· Field-validate constructed systems comply with drawings and specifications through daily inspections and advanced software applications, such as BIM/VDC

· Responsible for on-site safety program

· Perform other duties as assigned, as defined by the Project Manager or Director of Operations

Requirements

  

Education and Experience:

· A Bachelors degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and a minimum of 2 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience; or 

· An Associates degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and a minimum of 3 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience; or

· A High School diploma and a minimum of 7 years of related superintendent/foreman/crew leader experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and construction print reading

· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· Proficient with BIM/VDC applications


Supervisor Responsibilities:

· Reports directly to the Director of Operations 

· Works under the supervision of an on-site Project Manager

· Will supervise/coordinate subcontractor(s) and trades team performance


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

· Lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying items up to 50 lbs. or more

· Ability to perform a variety of construction tasks in all areas and aspects of the project including but not limited to scaffolding, platform work, confined spaces, and exposure to outside elements

· Must be able to see well, naturally or with correction and coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers 

· Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolding 

· Standing and/or walking for long periods, often times over uneven or unpaved ground 

· Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or working at heights as required

· Must have valid driver’s license, be insurable on the company insurance plan


Travel:

· This position will require occasional local, regional, and interstate travel to client offices, project sites, and other locations as assigned. Travel to foreign countries may be involved with some projects. Employee’s travel-related costs will be paid up front (hotel, airfare, & vehicle rentals, etc.) or reimbursed (mileage, per diem, tolls, & fares, etc.) in accordance with CMS policies
