Description
Position Summary: Outdoor and Indoor Furniture Sales Associates are employed to promote, merchandise and sell patio furniture, indoor furniture, grills, accessories and gifts. Sales Associates also answer phones and provide other customer service as needed to support business operations.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Greeting customers
- Answer telephones
- Operate cash registers, scanning goods and collecting payments or issuing credits, refunds or exchanges
- Bag, box and wrap items carefully
- Increase sales
- Merchandise product in attractive manner
- Maintain salesfloor appearance
- Cross-sell products
- Direct customers to merchandise and answer customer questions
- Resolve customer complaints
- Complying with verbal and written instruction
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Chief Executive Officer
- Check in and price inventory
- Special order furniture for customers
- Keep product and department clean
- Data entry and inventory management
Requirements
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Desire to gain product knowledge
- Telephone etiquette
- Familiarity with Point of Sales Systems (POS) or other computer skills
- Verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to merchandise goods

- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift product up to 25 lbs.

Education and Training:
- Fulfilled or working towards high school diploma or its equivalent
- Prior retail furniture/patio sales or other customer service experience desirable but not required
