Position: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Location: Hybrid/Flexible - CASA of Los Angeles, Edelman Children’s Court, Monterey Park, CA
Status/Schedule: Full-time/Exempt, Mon – Fri 8AM-5PM, weekend/evenings, required in office/field based on organization needs.
Salary: $75,000-80,000 annually
Organization Overview
CASA of Los Angeles organizes the community to show up for children and families in LA County’s overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Through an intentional, restorative and culturally responsive lens, we train committed, consistent and caring adults who provide equitable access to resources and life-affirming connections. CASA/LA strengthens our community, ensuring that children and families have what they need to thrive. CASA/LA is on a path to expand services to 12,000 of the estimated 30,000 children in the LA County’s dependency system every year. Key to these efforts is growth in the number of people who know about CASA/LA, the number of volunteers recruited and trained each year, and revenue generated from individuals, foundations, corporations and government sources
Duties and responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Promote CASA/LA’s brand through multiple channels and platforms.
- Create website content, articles, collateral, talking points, and other communications materials that resonate with our diverse audiences, helping them to see the work of CASA/LA and compelling them to move to action.
- Manage CASA/LA’s web presence and maximize the use of other digital channels.
- Identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
- Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs, and its goals through marketing materials and social media platforms.
- Support volunteer recruitment efforts and activities with promotion and outreach as they pertain to information sessions, graduations, and volunteer appreciation events.
- Coordinate publicity efforts with the development team and PR agency.
- Research area newspapers and radio and television stations to solicit and facilitate media coverage of CASA/LA’s work.
- Manage media requests and approvals.
- Support social media strategy through planning and posting social media content and managing communication on social media sites
- Support fundraising events and communication materials such as invitation development and oversight, and related social media strategy.
- Prepare marketing reports by collecting data and media placements
- Manage the CASA Shop (merchandise)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism preferred.
- 5 years of prior relevant work experience.
- Must have strong design and visual communication skills.
- Experience in digital marketing, database management, social media, website content management, communications and cloud-based IT.
- Experience with A/B, ad-serving tools, and marketing analytic tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to develop content on traditional and digital platforms.
- Knowledge of HTML and WordPress.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills – strategic and tactical.
- Self-motivated and independent, with a strong sense of focus and organization.
- Ability to thrive and work effectively independently and as a part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve, and multitask.
- Experience or interest in a career in fund development or non-profit organizations is essential.
- Ability and willingness to work some early mornings, evenings, and weekend days.
- Ability to work in an open office environment with interruptions and inadvertent noises from employees and visitors.
- Must be able to pass a live scan.
