Description

The Receptionist greets clients, visitors, and guests that come to Syracuse Community Connection, located at Southwest Community Center in a respectful and courtesy manner. The Receptionist determines the purpose of each person’s visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location. The Receptionist is responsible for all assigned screening processes required to successfully screen visitors entering the facility such as; ensuring everyone is asked a series of COVID-19 related questions pertaining to travel history or any symptoms. Also, taking all visitors temperature when entering the building. The Receptionist is responsible for logging all visitors electronically on an Excel spreadsheet. This log must be submitted to the director of facilities on a monthly basis. It is required that the receptionist is comfortable with using technology devices such as a laptop and cellphone. Furthermore, the receptionist facilitates in-person meetings and appointments in a prompt, courteous and professional manner; while following SCC policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED


Experience: 1-2 years of customer service experience ; perferred


Summary of Job Duties: Greets and assists visitors to the Southwest Community Center in a prompt, courteous and welcoming manner. Responsible for collecting and inputting data into spreadsheet for the Executive staff to view on a daily bases. Inform employee of guest visit/appointment and tracks where visitors are located within the building. Serves as the main point person for electronic entry into the building. This requires being present at the desk continuously. Familiarizes oneself with the daily schedule of the center, so that you will know where to direct people to in accordance with room assignments. Receives UPS or Federal Express packages. Ensures a safe environment by straightening entry floor mats, cleaning up minor spills in the entry area. Re-directing youth to their appropriate programs and supervisors/educators. Assist with fire drills by knowing where people are in the building and insuring, they vacate the building in a prompt and orderly manner. Supports and assists at Center-sponsored programs and events, as required. Abides by a strict code of confidentiality in all matters related to the position. Performs all other related and additional duties as required.
