Greenville University is seeking an innovative scholar to serve as a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in English to start in August 2023.  This individual should be well-versed in current composition theory. This instructor will have the opportunity to teach a wide range of undergraduate general education courses in writing and literature, as well as upper-division courses for majors in English. 


  

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time faculty load is twelve credit hours per semester, usually consisting of two to three general education courses and one or two upper-division courses.  Other responsibilities will include assisting in recruitment of students, student advisement, and regular participation in institutional committee work and professional development.  The faculty member may have additional duties with student publications depending on qualifications and interests.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking applicants with a Ph.D. in English or Rhetoric and Composition, along with significant college teaching experience.   Special consideration will be given to applicants with additional qualifications in British literature. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic about teaching general education courses in writing, literary analysis, and media studies. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as a role model for students within a Christian academic community.  A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required, with a strong commitment to a broadly Wesleyan tradition. 


COMPENSATION: Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience.
