Inventory Control Clerk
Description

  

The Inventory Control Clerk works together with our equipment vendors and maintenance staff to identify spare parts needs and inventory levels required to ensure continuous support of production departments. This position is responsible for entering master purchase data, ordering, receiving, inventorying, cycle counting part cribs and maintenance shop. The person is highly organized, has good communication skills, self-motivated and hands on.


Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors
  • Solve problems daily by working together as an engaged team member
  • Receive, inspect, check-in and locate parts and equipment into inventory systems
  • Work together with all departments and vendors to research and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of Purchase Part Master Data (obsolescence, price/vendor changes, part numbers, etc.)
  • Review equipment manuals and drawings to determine correct part order
  • Manage returns o vendors and arrange for equipment to be sent out for repair
  • Arrange for materials and equipment staging for planned maintenance work and activities
  • Able to recognize when equipment is not working correctly and communicate with technicians for resolution
  • Clean and inspect equipment as needed
  • Maintain records and documentation 
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned
Requirements


  • Good knowledge of inventory best practices required
  • Ability to work independently demonstrating strong technical knowledge and good communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Sound communication skills and excellent problem-solving ability 
  • Possess skills required to improvise and adapt where needed
  • Analytical thinker, which utilizes data to drive decisions
  • Strong and teamwork skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel preferred

Education

  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma and relevant experience

Physical Requirement

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
