FRONT OF HOUSE FOOD & BEVERAGE INTERN  

The Alderbrook Resort & Spa Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience at our unique property. Located approximately two hours west of Seattle and north of Portland, Alderbrook Resort & Spa is nestled on 88 picturesque acres of Washington’s scenic and serene Hood Canal. The position begins in June and ends in September (specific days subject to academic schedule). 



 WE'LL TEACH YOU

  • An overall understanding and practical working knowledge of the hospitality Food and Beverage industry, and day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage division (our Restaurant and Banquets departments). 
  • How to run stations in a fine dining restaurant (hosting, bussing, serving), and manage banquet and event operations.



WHAT YOU'LL FOCUS ON

  • Banquet Operations – Assisting the Banquet Captain in training and supervising banquet staff and operation of catered events.
  • Restaurant Operations –  Shadowing some managerial duties to gain an overall understanding of fine dining restaurant operations.

  • $16.74 ~ $36.74/hr ($16.74/hr base + service charge average)

Requirements

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Current enrollment or recent graduation from a 4-year program in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or similar discipline 
  • Strong Communication skills – the ability to interact successfully with guests or coworkers requires that you can communicate effectively. English language fluency is required.
