The Membership Clerk will serve an important role in our Membership Department, interacting with both members and shoppers, as well as with staff and the public at large. Candidates for this role must possess a warm and welcoming demeanor, be able to maintain timely and thorough follow-through, with patient, engaged listening skills and a problem-solving attitude.
Duties and required skills will include:
- Developing and/or possessing an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of membership at Weavers Way
- Supporting the Membership Manager in efforts to improve the member experience, member services, data management and reporting
- Timely, courteous follow-up with members and shoppers
- Answering service related phone calls, voicemails and emails, redirecting when appropriate, following through until resolution
- Cultivating relationships with Co-op members, shoppers and community members in all interactions
- Working knowledge of Zendesk or similar CRM a plus
- Supporting members in matters related to their membership, including but not limited to, equity status, work credit, member discounts, and access to the Online Member Center
- An ability to sign members up for work shifts, cancel workshifts and monitor missed sign-ins
- Thorough and accurate data entry and maintenance
- Ability to navigate the database, utilizing it to respond to member concerns and to research and resolve issues
- Meticulous record keeping, including household notes and pop-up notes
- Accepting equity investments and EasyPay deposits by phone
- Monitoring membership materials (e.g. brochures, membership packets, renewal slips, etc.)
- Managing the mailing of welcome packets, new member cards and replacement cards
- Assisting with the administration of donations, when necessary
- Participation in new member orientations
- Referring notary inquiries to the appropriate staff
- Providing office support as needed to maintain consistent membership office hours as publicized
- Providing additional phone and administrative support during peak holiday times, to ensure sufficient member and shopper services support
The schedule for this position will vary and generally will fall between Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm. Evening and Weekend availability may be requested for special events with advanced notice
Qualifications
Be a current member or willing to become a member of Weavers Way Co-op.
Ability to utilize various computer programs including Google docs, sheets and gmail.
Experience with Zendesk or willing to learn to use the Zendesk program
Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time
Customer Service experience a plus
