What We Are Looking For

This is management level position, working with Designers, Engineers, GIS, and other support staff and reporting directly to the Vice President level. GIS Managers are expected to have advanced level knowledge of GIS programs, spatial and cartographic understanding, and GIS software skills. Management level positions are expected to manage both staff and budgets.

Requirements

The Successful Candidate Will Have 

  • ESRI Suites Certification preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Geospatial Systems or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum 4 Year(s) Experience in GIS and CAD programs working in the GIS utility industry.
  • Minimum of 2 year(s) of managing staff, time entry approvals and conducting annual reviews.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD systems and conversions.
  • Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS and AGOL.
  • Familiarity with 3GIS or Vetro is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Python and SQL programming language knowledge.
  • Experience managing project budgets is preferred but not required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Works on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction related issues.
  • Create and maintain standards for design.
  • Prepare drawings using ArcGIS, AutoCAD or other electronic drawing packages as required. AutoCAD drafting will be minimal.
  • Assist in creating web-based mapping tools (ESRI ArcGIS Online) webapps, web maps, and dashboards to assist the client and internal use. Designs, develops and implements applications for accessing and analyzing spatial data.
  • Perform GIS troubleshooting activities and implements corrective action.
  • Works with data sets, CAD conversions, map creations, and database management for utility distribution GIS mapping projects.
  • Designs or develops databases that include geographic or topographic data.
  • Uses GIS and database applications to model utility distribution systems.
  • Monitors mapping work or the updating of maps to ensure accuracy, the inclusion of new or changed information, or compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Produces or updates overlay maps to show information boundaries, utility locations, or topographic features on various base maps or at different scales.
  • Prepare Documents and reports with Microsoft and other industry specific programs. 
  • Support the maintenance and operation of client’s mapping and GIS applications by maintaining, reporting, and posting work or by gathering data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Interviews will be conducted virtually, with the potential of in-person interviews for local candidates, and will include a meeting with the CFO, pre-employment cognitive and personality assessments, a background screening, and drug test.
