Then you may be the perfect candidate for the Before and/or After School Teacher at our Elementary and Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year!


As an extended care educator, you should have an engaging personality to provide a warm, caring, safe, and nurturing learning environment where students can develop physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. Our extended care educators help foster each student’s curiosity and growth. Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student’s interests and strengths. Be a lifelong learner who is a role model to the students, helps develop students’ unique talents, and instills in them a passion for learning and growing.


Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, and work schedule will be based on business needs.

Requirements
  • Minimum of HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science in Education or related field preferred
  • At least 19 years of age
  • *45 Hours of Child Growth and Development
  • *45 Hours of School Age Curriculum
  • *One year of experience working with school-age children (or 30 college credits)
  • *9 clock hours of approved training in communications OR one 3-credit college course
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with classroom management preferred
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, carry, lift 50 lbs.

*These courses are completed as a part of a college curriculum and are subsequently reflected on academic transcripts.

Additional Requirements or be willing to obtain:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act Training
  • Basic Health and Safety
  • Complete at least 25 hours of continuing education annually
  • MSDE Credentialing Program
  • First Aid and CPR Training
  • Medication Training
  • Emergency Preparedness

Other Qualifications

  • US citizen or current work visa
  • 19+ years of age
  • State of Maryland and FBI background checks clearance
