Job Title: Strategic Marketing Specialist
Responsible To: Director of Stewardship
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week) with weekends and evenings as needed
The Strategic Marketing Specialist is responsible for evaluating and managing all the modes of communication at the parish within the context of our mission to bring all people into relationship with Jesus Christ. This position provides creative and cohesive vision for using different methods of communication to increase parishioner and community engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Constantly evaluates the communication needs of the parish in conjunction with parish staff and ministry leaders.
- Develops a cohesive communication strategy to effectively reach and engage with parishioners and the local community.
- Continually assesses parishioner engagement with parish communications and makes necessary adjustments.
- Responsible for managing all forms of communication including website, social media, email blasts, bulk mail, Desert Disciple magazine, worship aid, pre-mass video announcements, and presider announcements.
- Creates unique content to share across communication platforms that shares the story of St. Timothy and the work the Lord is doing in the parish and in our parishioners.
- Collaborates creatively with other staff members to elicit ideas for content.
- Creates and manage an archive system for parish photos and past media.
- Develops and manages a yearly communications calendar that reflects the core values and primary purpose of the parish.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Stewardship to support the advancement of the parish mission.
Requirements
- Degree and/or experience in communications, marketing, or related field
- Ability to take initiative with little direction and structure
- Tenacious in bringing ideas to completion
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Proficient at developing content
- Enjoys collaborating and working with a team
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed for developing content
- Complete and maintain Diocesan Safe Environment Training
