Description

Reporting to the Coordinator of Stewardship, the Stewardship Specialist assists with the production and delivery of donor-centered acknowledgement, recognition and stewardship items to enhance relationships and engagement between donors and The Association of the Former Students.


DUTIES

Performs tasks related to the stewardship of donor gifts: 

  • Facilitates positive and long-lasting relationships through exceptional customer service to all visitors, volunteers, and donors by appropriately handling customer inquiries and requests. 
  • Compiles, prints and distributes donor acknowledgement letters, receipts, and recognition items with efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Manages the restricted receipts and Diamond Century Club stewardship mailings.
  • Leads the implementation and utilization of Thankview, and other donor engagement software as needed, to create customized videos to personally thank and engage with our donors. 
  • Assists in planning and executing special events designed to strengthen and expand relationships with donors, including, but not limited to, Diamond Century Club stewardship events and “Thank an Ag" day. 
  • Assists the Coordinator of Stewardship with improving standard operating procedures, increasing efficiency in processes, and creating stewardship opportunities designed to improve donor engagement and retention.
  • Oversees the ordering and maintenance of recognition items and supplies, such as plaques, decals, year bars, luggage tags, receipts, letterhead, and envelopes, including maintaining inventory.
  • Manages the mailing process for Century Club plaques.
  • Conducts research on returned stewardship mailings, including plaques, and follow up with donors as needed.
  • Works on special projects as needed and assigned by Vice President for Development, Director of Annual Giving, Coordinator of Annual Giving, and other Development staff members.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities:

  • Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals.
  • Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings.
  • Participates on internal event teams and task committees.
  • Participates in Association events, including but not limited to Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Pass It Back Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, and All-Aggie Hullabaloo, as needed.

Serves as an ambassador for The Association:

  • Meets our Team Expectations.
  • Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives.
  • Fosters relationships with students, former students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M. 
  • Attends external events in support of the Vice President of Communications or on behalf of The Association, as directed.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to effectively communicate with students, former students, Association employees and Association leadership in a professional manner. Ability to interact with a diverse population, organize multiple projects, and properly manage time. Working knowledge of standard office equipment and ability to operate a keyboard. Frequent use of computer. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required. 


EXPERIENCE

Required: One year of general office/clerical experience. Basic Microsoft Office knowledge. 

Preferred: Two years of general office/clerical experience. Experience with a Customer-Relationship Management Tool (CRM; Salesforce and Marketing Cloud preferred).


EDUCATION

Required: Associate’s degree.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
