Description

OVERVIEW 

We are looking for highly driven, entrepreneurial, and equity-focused professionals who are deeply passionate about working with government and communities to create a more just and inclusive society. You will lead client engagements focused on using public funding and data as levers to enable government agencies and community-based organizations to improve the lives of the people they serve. 


A typical project team includes three people: an Associate or Senior Associate (Project Support), a Manager (Project Lead), and a Director (Senior Project Resource) who deliver consulting services to Third Sector's clients. More complex projects have larger teams. Successful Managers are creative team players who successfully manage two client engagements at a time, consistently produce client-ready content, and are committed to their own, their team’s, and the organization's learning and growth.


RESPONSIBILITIES 


Project Delivery Leadership

  • Responsible for leading two client projects and project teams in delivering technical assistance to government and/or philanthropic clients, including coaching and mentoring Associates in their professional development 

Organizational Support including Partnership and Project Development

  • Support identification of new partnership and project development opportunities with a focus on active projects where you are Project Lead, including related work in those geographies/jurisdictions
  • Support efforts to strengthen project work and team experiences, including onboarding and training, and coaching and mentorship of team members

Communications

  • Write and/or edit web content, including blog posts and social media posts and other marketing materials about Third Sector projects and efforts
  • Contribute insight and learnings from project delivery in the development of verbal and written communication like blog posts, op-eds, conference panels, case studies, and practice area or project-specific messaging in support of organizational spokespeople

Note: This listing represents the majority of day-to-day responsibilities in this role but other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE 

We are seeking someone with 1-3 years of professional experience in a Manager-level role that includes many of the following:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact on client engagement(s) while creating collaborative working environments with clients, their stakeholders, and project teams
  • Experience creating and managing to work plans and leading project teams and clients from Scope of Work to completion 
  • Designing and delivering well-structured quantitative and qualitative analyses and drawing key insights and actionable conclusions from data 
  • Communicating persuasively to diverse audiences using verbal and written formats (e.g. PowerPoint, memos, emails, virtual meetings) 
  • Mentoring and coaching team members and supporting  their professional growth
  • Experience working within or with state, local, or federal government agencies in the United States, their contracted service providers, and/or their other key partners or stakeholders (ideally familiar with one or more of Third Sector’s practice areas i.e. Economic Mobility, Early Childhood, Diversion and Reentry, and Behavioral Health)
  • Experience (professional or lived) with the delivery of social services (including housing or food assistance, financial aid, supportive services for families and/or services for people with disabilities) or in a government agency 
  • Directly supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or racial equity efforts in previous work experiences and understands the role that race and racism play in power dynamics, privilege, and access, both within our organization and within public agencies and systems

Salary Description
$79,200 to $96,800
