BlueWave has an immediate opening our Accounting Team for a GL and Reporting Manager, reporting to the Controller. This position is responsible for general ledger activity, financial reporting for month/year-end for internal/external stakeholders, processing recording certain ledger activity for the Holding Company (and its subsidiaries) and management of financial reporting. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting theory and GAAP financial reporting along with self-motivation, organization, analytical, problem-solving, research and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting department and her/his responsibilities will include:
General Ledger & Reporting:
- Maintaining the NetSuite close task list, record eliminating entries for the monthly close and review for accuracy
- Compiling & publishing the management report for the monthly close
- Distributing department reporting results for the monthly close to stakeholders
- Compiling quarterly financial statements for submission to lenders
- Gathering supporting material as required for audit
- Supporting the annual 401k audit by compiling requested audit support and responding to auditor inquiries
- Supporting tax return work by compiling requested tax support and responding to tax inquiries
- Supporting ASC 740 tax provision work by compiling requested tax support and responding to tax inquiries
- Recording cash transfers for approval or approve cash transfers from the A/P Analyst for all bank accounts
- Developing streamlined processes to publish various financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Implementing robust internal controls that supports the company goals and objectives
- Recording accruals for the month end close that are specific to the Holding Company or that are non-project related
- Processing any adjustments as required as per US GAAP and company policies and procedures
- Reconciling assigned accounts for the month end close; research and resolve any issues identified
- Collaborating with the Accounting Team and other BlueWave departments to identify issues, implement process improvementsand maintaining open communication
- Serving as liaison between compensation/GL accounting and external accountants to fulfill annual audit and tax requests
- Demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills with both internal and external parties
- All other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- CPA, CMA, or MBA desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with ERP systems for financial reporting
- Ability to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills, to multi-task and work with data
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service (internal and external), teamwork and attention to detail skills required
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly
