And we’re just getting started.JOB SUMMARYPerforms various functions in sterilizing and assembling all equipment required for surgery. Must ensure established procedures for receiving, decontaminating, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing medical equipment are strictly followed.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manual cleaning of instruments and equipment to remove contaminants
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of washer / decontaminator
  • Follows manufacturers’ instructions for use (IFU)
  • Examination of instruments and equipment to ensure they are clean
  • Actively monitors as well as operates sterilization equipment such as an autoclave
  • Maintains sterilization logs
  • Monitoring biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments

REQUIREMENTS

  • One year of experience required
  • Maintains current certification in sterile processing
  • Certification by a national board is preferred
