Job Purpose

Desired candidate will be the program lead for Outreach, Recycling, and Sustainability Acquisition programs. The candidate will also support our Program and Projects Team, compile current regulatory data, and support our environmental team with transitioning to a new environmental compliance tracking system.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • As the lead for the Outreach Program the candidate will coordinate and support site-wide environmental events for Center environmental awareness. The candidate will manage and execute the development and production of environmental newsletters to clients on a quarterly basis. 
  • As the lead for the Recycling and Sustainable Acquisitions (RSA) Program the candidate will obtain relevant data from work groups, analyze data, and generate reports, to support the Center recycling goals; review waiver requests for purchases related to the sustainable acquisitions program. The candidate will provide recordkeeping for recycling activities for small and large-scale projects.
  • Support the Regulatory Risk Analysis and Communication (RRAC) team by reviewing current and future environmental regulations and generating a report to the client on a quarterly basis. 
  • Support the Program and Projects team by attending project meetings, job walks, and inspections; evaluating projects; and providing support to project managers to ensure environmental compliance and with the current regulatory requirements.
  • Work as a liaison and facilitator with JSC personnel and our team as JSC adopts new centralized systems for tracking environmental compliance nonconformances. 
  • Support our environmental team on related initiatives as needed, including in the areas of pollution prevention, environmental managements systems, spill prevention, and stormwater management. 


Requirements

Education: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil) or natural resource discipline.

Experience 

  •  A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must have excellent organization and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, peers, and other stakeholders. 
  • Must be competent in the use of all elements of Microsoft Office Professional.  

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge in the pollution prevention, recycling, and sustainability programs.

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
