POSITION SUMMARY

We ensure the financial health of the organization and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including internal policies and procedures. The Funding & Payroll Analyst collects and prepares financial data in order to prepare and provide reports that incorporate data analysis, budget forecasting, planning, cost analysis and tracking. This role works closely with and under the direction of the CFO. The position is hybrid reporting in person to our Salt Lake City office and working from home.   


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collect and prepare financial data in order to provide reports that incorporate funding analysis, budget forecasting, planning, cost analysis and tracking. 

  1. Grant/resource development support. Maintain financial information (including budget vs actual reporting) that helps UWSL senior managers to determine where funding needs exist, assist with financial reporting due, etc. Create visualizations of this data.  
  2. Oversee FTE compliance tracking / certification of effort on funding sources. 
  3. Maintain and analyze cost allocation standards and practices including FTE (full-time-equivalent) formulas and other techniques to be used in cost allocation among administrative, fundraising, and program costs. 
  4. NetSuite training liaison and project manager for enhancement initiatives to our NetSuite instance.  
  5. Data cleaning, validation, and formatting. Utilize technology to automate and improve accuracy of reporting.   
  6. Seek innovative ways to continuously improve processes related to financial and operational areas. 
  7. Other duties as assigned. 


BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits. $60,000 – 75,000. Salary commensurate with experience. And a generous benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:

Requirements

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Proven proficiency with spreadsheets, PC-based software, and automated relational database management systems required (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)  
  • Knowledge of statistics and demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish  
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment, thinking strategically and effectively when faced with difficult challenges  
  • Ability to clearly communicate results and provide recommendations to diverse stakeholders

  • Proficient with Microsoft and Google suites  
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external policies and regulations; risk identification and assessment; maintains objectivity; complete and accurate record keeping  


BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance  
  • CPA certification preferred  
  • NetSuite and Tableau experience is a plus 
  • 2-3 years in finance or accounting role performing analysis   
  • Advanced Excel/spreadsheet proficiency  


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The team member is regularly required to communicate clearly, and exchange accurate information interpersonally or through communication devices. Must be able to learn new systems and procedures, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The position requires occasional movement throughout the office to access files, papers, or move supplies weighing up to 15lbs. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
