Under general supervision, the Machinist is responsible for the set up and operation of manually controlled machines in skilled precision and bench work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery machine parts, tools and equipment, in addition to any other related duties as required in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
The Machinist will fabricate a wide variety of metal and composite components through the set-up and operation of lathes, sharpeners, milling machines, drill press, and similar equipment, gauging work carefully by using precision measurement instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
The Machinist will properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, tooling, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
The Machinist will perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
The Machinist must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations as well as concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios, angles, degrees, and proportions to practical situations.
The Machinist must define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
The Machinist must read and interpret blue prints as supplied by other related professionals and at times create their own drawings.
The Machinist will be working around high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment required to do the job. The Machinist must be able to remain focused on the job while dealing with interruptions from guest contact.
During training periods, the Machinist must be able to read the information provided in the maintenance and construction manual, the Employee Handbook, the Lagoon Policies and Procedures Manual, purchased equipment manuals and drawings, as well as to comprehend verbal instructions from trainers.
The Machinist must be willing to conform to Lagoon’s grooming and personal hygiene requirements and wear the proper issued uniform. A neat, clean, professional appearance is required at all times.
The Machinist must be willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management.
Must have a current Driver’s License.
