About the Role:

The Learning and Development Specialist drives a learning organization mindset to improve employee growth, development, and productivity. They assess company-wide developmental needs, identify suitable training solutions, implement effective methods to educate, and measure progress. This person should have a strong passion for supporting the professional learning and growth of others. 


What you will be doing: 

  • Lead Brinkman University, defining curriculum, and advocating for effective learning opportunities for all employees including safety, technical, behavioral, leadership, and compliance training.
  • Develop technical training objectives and programs for project management and field operations, along with other teams as needed.
  • Partner with managers and subject matter experts to develop high-impact learning programs that align with organizational priorities.
  • Partner with human resources to assess employee career development and performance needs and define resources and processes to support improvement.
  • Manages the preparation of effective course materials, utilizing a variety of media to support learning. 
  • Manage learning management system (LMS) to maintain a record of training activity, including training sessions, course communication, registration, completion, and measurement of training hours and learning metrics.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments of training programs to evaluate and measure results and make necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Identify and evaluate appropriate external training-related vendors, consultants, and partners.
  • Build an external network of training professionals and resources to gauge and benchmark BCI against other companies’ learning and development programs. 
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Confident leadership presence and effective presentation skills.
  • Skilled in evaluating, designing, developing, and implementing effective training options.  
  • Understanding of different learning styles and how to structure training to accommodate all styles. 
  • Ability to establish relationships and build trust with learners. 

Qualifications – Desired Education & Experience: 

  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development or related field, or equivalent level of proven hands-on learning & development experience required; Masters’ degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years experience in a corporate learning & development role, preferably within the construction industry
  • 5 years of experience creating, designing, and implementing employee development programs and training content
  • Certified Professional or Associate Professional in Talent Development credential preferred.

Salary: Minimum of $75,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with skills, experience, and education.
