Job Purpose
The Employment Services Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services to achieve the best possible outcomes for the adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. The Employment Services Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating VIA’s Achieve Employment Services and assisting with VIAble Ventures as requested. The Employment Services Supervisor will work directly with participants and staff to ensure Individualized Services Plans (ISP) are developed and meaningful outcomes are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
Employment Services Management
- Assists in the licensing, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for vocational and residential services
- Develops and maintains weekly schedules for Achieve Employment job seekers and employment specialists
- Supervises and provides training to staff to meet DARS/DBHDS requirements and the goals of individuals being served
- Complies with DBHDS, DARS, and CARF regulations
- Coordinates intakes for Employment Services and regularly communicates with referral sources
- Reviews daily session notes to ensure employment specialists accurately document client progress
- Meets with employment specialists weekly to discuss caseload, review billable hours, and set weekly appointments
- Provides in person training to employment specialists and completes staff performance checks
- Fosters a positive, collaborative work environment amongst staff by evaluating and providing ongoing communication and feedback
Participant, Caregiver, and Stakeholder Communication
- Regularly communicates with adult participants, caregivers, and stakeholders to foster positive relationships and high satisfaction with program communication
- Responds to all adult participant, guardian, and stakeholder communications in a timely manner (e.g. return phone calls, respond to emails)
- Notifies caregivers and stakeholders of any injuries and/or significant events as outlined in VIA’s policies
- Communicates regularly with clients and their families to review progress towards goals
- Attends monthly ESO/DARS meetings and builds relationships with DARS Counselors and Support Coordinators to expand services
ISP Development and Documentation
- Develops Individualized Services Plans (ISPs) for individuals receiving Employment Services
- Incorporates results from appropriate assessment measures into ISP outcomes and activities
- Includes individual and/or guardian input in ISP development
- Participates in annual planning meetings with individuals, caregivers, and support coordinators
- Participates in Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Assessments when appropriate
- Reports and monitors individual progress via individualized monthly and quarterly progress reports
- Ensures that each participant is actively engaged and making progress towards their ISP outcomes and activities
Daily Instruction
- Supports clients onsite with learning job skills and maintaining employment in the community
- Ensures vocational training sessions and skill building outcomes are implemented accurately and efficiently, including proper data collection
- Uses evidence-based practices, including natural teaching opportunities, during program implementation
- Implements behavior support plans with fidelity when appropriate
- Takes initiative to design, implement, and improve individual programming
- Assists with vocational training opportunities for adult learners and students at CAAAS as part of the VIAble Ventures program as requested
- Communicates any significant trends in behavior to the Director of Adult Services
- Champions special projects as needed
Community-Based Instruction
- Ensures that programs are accurately and efficiently implemented in the community
- Develops and maintains positive community relationships by interacting appropriately and respectfully with employment partners and community members
- Safely transports individuals to community settings as requested/required
- Assists with connecting VIAble Ventures sales to local stores, farmer’s markets, and fairs as requested
Position Type
This is a full-time position. Travel is required.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Psychology, Human Development, Social Work, Behavior Science, Education, or a related field)
- ACRE Certification and completion of RBT training required within 6 months of hire
- At least 2 years providing employment services required
- At least 2 years of experience supervising staff preferred
- Experience providing Developmental Disability Waiver Services and developing ISPs is preferred
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Access to a personal vehicle to transport individuals receiving Employment Services
