JOB SUMMARY: Perform duties such as construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of structural woodwork and related materials, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs a full range of carpenter assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the applications of procedures and practices to specific work situations.
- Perform all aspects of carpentry labor and complete projects per schedule mandates
- Perform emergency temporary repairs to damaged structures, including board ups. Remain "on-call" to support operations during non-work hours
- Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
- Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders and a variety of hand tools.
- Follow established safety rules, policies, and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management
- Knowledge of safety regulations, instructions, policies, and procedures
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Have verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in commercial/industrial settings
- Applicable building and safety code requirements
- Coordination, Critical thinking, and time management
- Have working knowledge and understanding of all job documentation, including plans, specifications contracts and change orders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Minimum one (1) year experience working as a carpenter in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting
- Ability to perform general maintenance work and follow written instructions
- Knowledge of hand and power tool
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position may include any or all of the following: Much of the work is performed in inclement weather and during all seasons. Some work is performed in confined areas, on slick and wet surfaces. Employees are exposed to vibrations, loud continuous noise, offensive smells, dust, dirt and water. Exposed to injury from moving equipment, insect bites, poisonous plants, flying objects, slippery surfaces and hazardous materials. Must have strength to pull, lift, and/or push 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Flexibility to bend, twist, and reach. Mobility to climb, crawl and walk. Dexterity to operate machinery and tools on uneven surfaces and stamina to exert self throughout the day in all weather conditions
