The mission of Arrakis Therapeutics is to extend small molecule medicines into new realms of biology by discovering and developing compounds that selectively target RNA. By targeting distinct RNA structure: function relationships, Arrakis aims to generate drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action for molecular targets that are challenging to drug with other approaches, opening up vast new realms of human biology for medicine.
 

We are looking for a System Administrator to join our team. The System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge to maintain, upgrade and manage our computer software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users including computational and laboratory scientists. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage technology tools, servers and application stack on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models and recommend future upgrades.
  • Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Communicate and coordinate training with staff on new technologies.
  • Ensure the design of the system allows all components to work properly together.
  • Troubleshoot problems & outages reported by users and analyze and isolate issues.
  • Collaborate with managed service provider for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, smartphones, software deployment, AV equipment, security updates and patches.
  • Coordinate with networking team for performing network address assignment, routing table configuration, authentication, and authorization of directory services.
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  • Build and update internal technical documentation, inventory, manuals, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience with networking including firewall technology, switching, and routing.
  • Proven experience as a System, Network, Database administrator or similar role is a plus.
  • Experience  with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Specific experience with directory services for file server authentication.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms, Specific experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, Apple, Linux Operating Systems.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment. 
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions and to cope effectively with complexity and change.
