Storm King Claims Services, established in 2006, is launching a new Preferred Partnership Program and is seeking 1099 Property Desk Examiners.
We are searching for a select number of 1099 Property Desk Examiners to be ready when a catastrophe hits.
We are a growing Florida based firm, with our home office located in Pinellas Park, FL, that prides itself in handling Homeowners Property and Casualty claims from first notice of loss through claim resolution for our clients. We specialize in servicing Insurance carriers that insure both Mobile Home and Homeowners policies. Our Desk Examiners employ a high level of customer service to our policyholders by empathetically handling each claim and working efficiently with focus on amicable indemnity. It is our mission to provide a reliable and timely claims experience for our customers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Interpret and apply policy coverage to loss for low to intermediate severity level claims.
- Communicate policy coverage and benefits to our customers.
- Investigate and document cause of loss and area of origin.
- Create, review, and/or approve estimates for the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or destroyed property – Desk Adjust with Xact ClaimsExperience©.
- Report findings of investigation, coverage interpretation and damage estimates to company through proprietary system and maintain active current diaries.
- Negotiate successfully with insureds, contractors, and vendors; may have interaction with public adjusters and attorneys under close supervision.
- Comply with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and document subrogation opportunities; Identifies and addresses salvage of damage or destroyed items.
- Identify and investigate questionable and possible fraudulent activity.
- Comply with all service standards and guidelines of our organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience in Homeowners P&C claims handling
- Must maintain current and valid adjuster license(es) as required. (FL, GA, AL, LA, NC, SC, TX preferred)
- Excellent time management, organization, multi-tasking and prioritization skill
- Strong project management skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skill
- Intermediate level understanding of residential construction (preferred)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skill
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office© products
- Intermediate level of experience using Xactimate© and Xactanalysis© (preferred)
- Applicant must supply all trade equipment, computer, internet and software subscriptions.
- Applicant must follow all state and federal regulations as they pertain to this position.
- Applicant must submit and pass a background check including verification of driver’s license.
Physical requirement:
This position is in an office environment and would require:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50%- 75% of the time.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly to other team members.
Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine, phone/headset, and keyboard.
