About the role
This specific opening is for an exceptional candidate to help drive our CloudBees CI capability. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager. You will leverage your analytical and technical skills, data-driven decision-making, communication and tactical execution skills to help guide our teams in increasing their velocity of delivering new and enhanced values to our customers.
What You’ll Do
You'll join the team of product managers in creating and delivering on the product roadmap.
You'll be embedded into one of the multidisciplinary pods and be responsible for setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by the team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product is delivered to our customers.
You'll bring your area of expertise to the creation and delivery of the product roadmap:
- Understand business objectives.
- Ensure product is in line with product strategy and business goals.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure on-time, on-target and on-quality delivery of the roadmap.
You'll translate the overall product vision and strategy to the team level:
- Keep the team focused on highest value.
- Create and owns the team's product backlog.
- Be the voice of our customers.
- Drive common understanding, helps the team understand the "why" and the user's job-to-be-done.
- Collaborate with the team to arrive at fully defined and meaningful value increments (define epics, break it down into user stories, define acceptance criteria).
- Foster a culture of data-informed decision making and ensure that product data and instrumentation initiatives support that.
- Prioritize backlog items, taking into account overall strategy, balance between scope, budget, time, customer and internal demands.
- Be hands-on with the product and technologies, inspect and evaluate progress through each iteration.
- Determine whether the final deliverable is acceptable.
You'll contribute to each stage of the development process and act as a liaison to stakeholders:
- Establish strong trusting relationships with the field organization and regularly communicate product roadmap and deliverables both internally and externally.
- Make the work visible, transparent and clear to all.
- Work closely with product marketers to develop compelling messaging and positioning that explain technical and business value in simple, understandable terms.
- Set a focused and achievable Sprint goal together with the team.
- Inform and involves internal stakeholders of priority changes, risks and progress.
- Work with research and design to create best customer experiences.
- Collaborate with engineering to validate technical feasibility and effort estimates.
- Work with the team to refine and improve the development process.
- Drive the Sprint review to celebrate achievements.
Role Requirements
- Working knowledge of Jenkins.
- 2-5+ years working experience with Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology.
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and activities.
- Working knowledge of DevOps concepts and tools.
- Experience in coordinating activities across functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize effectively.
- Empathy for users and deep understanding of how they interact with the product.
- Excellent English (oral and written) communication skills.
