Job Summary:
The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs that ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The EHS Manager will work closely with all departments within the organization to identify and mitigate potential risks to the health and safety of employees, visitors, and the environment. They will also provide guidance and support to managers and employees in identifying and mitigating risks in their respective areas.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage environmental, health, and safety programs and policies that ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential risks and hazards, and work with department managers to implement corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain all required environmental permits and reporting, including air and water quality monitoring and reporting.
- Develop and implement training programs for employees on environmental, health, and safety topics, including emergency response procedures, hazardous materials handling, and accident prevention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new policies, procedures, and initiatives to improve environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in identifying and mitigating risks in their respective areas.
- Ensure all incidents are investigated, documented, and reported in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with new environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensure the company remains in compliance with all applicable laws.
Sustainability
- Develops sustainability strategies and initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental impact and improve its social and economic performance.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce the company’s environmental impact, including waste reduction, energy efficiency and sustainable sourcing.
- Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics.
- Identify and implement sustainable business practices that improve the company’s social and economic performance.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs.
- Excellent knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and hazards and develop effective solutions.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred.
- Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
