Description

Alongside and in support of the Orthodontist, performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Works chair-side as the Orthodontist examines and treats patients. Supports the overall office by communicating effectively with other staff and patients, providing assistance where needed. Works as part of a team to ensure patients have a positive experience, and the office runs efficiently.


Duties:

  • Assists the Orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures including but not limited to: isolation, etch and bonding of brackets as well as banding.
  • Prepares patients for treatment and collects dental history/records.
  • Provides patients with instructions for oral care following bracket placement
  • Takes impressions and/ or Itero scans
  • Follow and support infection control protocol. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant (experience in Orthodontics preferred)
  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Orthodontic Assistant (OA)
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
