We are looking for a dynamic Marketing & Communications Manager to join The Learning Center for the Deaf Advancement team. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be the primary storyteller of The Learning Center for the Deaf in promoting our programs, services and success stories.
The Learning Center for the Deaf is a nationally-recognized leader in educational, therapeutic, and community services for deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. Today, we are the largest provider of services to deaf and hard of hearing children in New England, and the largest private employer of deaf individuals in the State of Massachusetts. Coming upon our 50th anniversary year in which we will launch a new website, TLC is in an exciting and dynamic stage, with many opportunities to advance our marketing and communications work. Our multiple lines of service offer creative opportunities the individual hired into the position to make an impact on the organization.
In 2019, The Learning Center for the Deaf was named Outstanding Organization of the Year by the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The primary language of communication on campus is American Sign Language, and the ideal candidate for this position will be fluent or proficient in American Sign Language with experience in and respect for Deaf culture. Deaf candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will also be a trained writer, skilled in customizing written messaging in different mediums to a variety of audiences. Our ideal candidate will be committed to collaborating with program leaders and staff in order to create messaging that is compelling, meaningful, and focused on fulfilling TLC’s mission. Our candidate will be focused on setting up TLC for success, anticipating the distinct and often varying marketing and communication needs of each program while simultaneously linking them to the bigger picture of what TLC as a whole organization provides.
