Job Title: School-Based Therapist Comprehensive Assessor

Job Classification: Exempt

Supervisor: Director of Early Childhood and School Linked Services

Job Summary:

The School Based Therapist Comprehensive Assessor provides comprehensive assessment to children and adolescents, provides referrals and recommendations to assist in service connection and treatment plan development, and coordinates care with families and school-based service providers. These positions may be based in the schools, RMHC office locations, or remotely via Telehealth and offer flexible scheduling.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive assessments for children and adolescents, as medically necessary and in compliance with all DHS standards
  • Provide program information, referrals, and recommendations for appropriate services to families, schools, and partners
  • Complete clinical documentation and other medically necessary documentation in the RMHC electronic health record, as required by agency policy and DHS standards in a timely manner
  • Complete all required standardized measurement tools for children and adolescents
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with families, schools, professionals, and collaborating agencies
  • ?Attends Multidisciplinary, Program, and School Meetings and trainings as directed
  • Provide culturally competent and appropriate treatment services to youth and their families
  • Attend training as required by RMHC and the Department of Human Services to meet both minimum training requirements and mandated trainings
  • Communicate with Clinical Supervisor regarding issues and updates for the people we serve as required by Department of Human Services and RMHC
  • Follow all pertinent regulatory, statutory and RMHC procedural requirements
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Able to compose and record professional quality comprehensive assessments and all other documentation in a timely fashion on a personal computer
  • Ability to build/maintain strong working relationships with collaborating partners
  • Able to handle sensitive situations in a calm, professional manner and manage crisis situations
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Flexible and able to prioritize workload and maintain organization
  • Understanding of local and state mental health resources and systems
  • Understanding/knowledge of agency and DHS records and billing compliance
  • A philosophical approach consistent with the Range Mental Health Center’s mission

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in, Social Work, Family Therapy or one of the behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university required
  • Required to maintain appropriate credentials as a Licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Minnesota
  • Experience providing comprehensive assessment services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families required 
  • Ability to complete clinical hours and clinical supervision toward licensure and credentialing as a mental health professional required
  • Two years post degree experience in social work, psychology, or related fields with appropriate clinical supervision, licensed as a mental health professional in MN, and ability to be credentialed by insurance companies preferred  
  • Experience in the delivery of School-Based Mental Health Services preferred  
  • Experience providing individual and family treatment to youth with a SED/ED diagnosis preferred

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times 
  • Adequate level of vision to use computer terminal
  • Sufficient hearing to accurately record information received verbally
  • Must be 18 years of age
