We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Ledger and Contracts Person to join our team at Prevailance. As a defense contractor, we operate in a dynamic and regulated industry, requiring strong financial management and compliance expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the general ledger and supporting our contracts administration processes. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, contract management, and government regulations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to support management decision-making and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Support contracts administration through contracts drafting, review, negotiation/resolution, and compliance.
- Assist in preparation, negotiation, execution, and modifications of subcontract agreements and purchasing/delivery orders.
- Assist in the negotiation of nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements and other agreements, as assigned.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Operations, and Growth Departments, to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Stay updated with relevant accounting standards, government regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all financial and contractual matters.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls within the general ledger and contracts management functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and contracts administration, preferably within the defense industry or government contracting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in government contracts administration.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and contract management principles.
- Experience working with defense contracts, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (Unanet and Paylocity are highly desired).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
