Description

SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to assist the Lights of Christmas (LOC) team in the hanging of Christmas lights, setting up displays and outdoor decorations. This position would also include general event preparations and support roles during the actual event. The person in this position shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior towards colleagues, guests and supervisors. Regular attendance is essential for this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Install lights on trees, buildings and other structures as directed by the Installation Crew Supervisor.
  2. Attend morning crew meetings.
  3. Responsible to fully implement WBCM's safety policies and procedures and to provide a safe working environment for any staff or volunteer under their direction.
  4. Keep track of tools issued to you and care for properly.
  5. Install other ground displays as directed.
  6. During the event, fill the position assigned to you by the LOC Director and execute all responsibilities associated with the position.
  7. After the event closes, take down, disassemble and store all LOC items as directed by Installation Crew Supervisor.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months to one year of related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to convey plans and procedures to others, communicate technical information, and give detailed instruction.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
