Description:
The Clinical Specialist is the friendly and helpful face of Nashville Hip Institute at TOA – generally, the first person who interacts with patients and their families when they arrive for an appointment. Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and patient focus to make each encounter as positive as possible.
- Work closely with clinical colleagues and administrative teammates to develop a cohesive, high performing team.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information upon arrival.
- Collect copayments, coinsurances, deductibles, and balances.
- Prep daily clinics for upcoming appointments and review charts for completeness.
- Answer incoming calls and schedule follow-up appointments for clinic and physical therapy.
- Work directly with clinic staff and management on operations/clinic flow to create the best environment for care.
- Assist with clinical workflow including rooming patients, coordinating multidisciplinary appointment follow ups, and navigating a fluid clinic schedule for patients with multiple appointments in the day.

- Experience: Previous successful experience in a healthcare clinic/office environment or customer service role preferred, but not required
- Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
