Compass (Compass Retirement Consulting Group, Compass 360, LLC, and Compass World Wide, LLC) is a third-party administrator (TPA) that provides client companies with retirement plan design, administration, actuarial services, and ongoing consulting services to ensure our clients’ plans are in compliance with DOL, ERISA, IRS, and other regulations. Our headquarters are in Stratham, NH, but our clients are nationwide in various industries and sizes. We are passionate about the use of technology and are always looking for more streamlined ways to perform tasks.
What You Will Do
The Retirement Plan Consultant position will work behind the scenes on an assigned book of business to perform annual testing, asset valuations, contribution calculations, and prepare required filings. You will be expected to work as part of a team including Relationship Managers, who manage the daily client communications; Compliance Analysts. who assist with daily administrative tasks; and other internal team members. This position has minimal exposure to clients, advisors, and CPA's.
Specific tasks include:
- identify and correct errors and late deferrals as needed
- calculate employer contributions and true-up contributions accurately and timely
- create Form 5500, 5330, and 8955-SSA filings
- create valuation packages
- perform projections, tests, and calculations
- identify RMD-eligible participants and mandatory force-out distributions
- review work of Compliance Analysts and other team members

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for several talented individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who can manage plan administration and compliance tasks for an assigned book of business. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are key attributes we look for in all our employees. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of progressive TPA experience. Those with Datair, Pension Pro, or FT Williams software knowledge and ASPAA or NIPAA credentials are preferred.
