We are seeking an individual to join a highly motivated team in selflessly advancing The Association of Former Students’ noble mission by serving in a key supporting role on our Development team.
This position will provide support and assistance to the Development team for a wide range of complex administrative operations, including implementing, coordinating and monitoring departmental projects and interacting with constituents.
DUTIES
Primary Functions:
- Serves as the primary contact for all constituent-related matters, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, and assist the Annual Giving team with administrative support and project maintenance.
- Builds positive and lasting relationships with former students and friends of Texas A&M by assisting with constituent questions, problems, and concerns via phone, email, and in person.
- Increases exposure of fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Coordinator of Annual Giving and the Marketing and Communications departments.
- Serves as a team lead on a variety of fundraising projects, including but not limited to corporate matching gifts, recurring gift payment failures, pledge reminders, sponsored giving, Pass It Back Day, Thank an Ag Day, and other projects.
- Collaborates with Association staff from the Department of Former Student Programs and Department of Campus Programs on a variety of fundraising and stewardship initiatives.
- Solves transaction processing challenges related to the Annual Fund in collaboration with The Association's Gift Processing and Stewardship teams.
Secondary Functions:
- Assists with the improvement and development of communication materials for fundraising efforts, including, but not limited to, correspondence, brochures and websites.
Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities:
- Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals.
- Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings.
- Participates on internal event teams and task committees.
- Participates in Association events, including but not limited to Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Pass It Back Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, and All-Aggie Hullabaloo, as needed.
Serves as an ambassador for The Association:
- Meets our Team Expectations.
- Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives.
- Fosters relationships with students, former students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M.
- Attends external events in support of the Director of Fundraising or on behalf of The Association, as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required: Ability to organize concurrent projects and manage time, while working independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with teammates. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a variety of unique personalities and individuals. Ability to use standard office equipment and software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Texas driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Strong commitment to the mission and vision of The Association of Former Students, with the ability and desire to advocate for the organization and Texas A&M University. High energy level and intrinsic motivation. Occasional travel, including overnight stays, weekends, and evenings, in support of Association events.
EXPERIENCE
Required: One to three years of professional work experience with customer service responsibilities, along with the ability to plan and execute concurrent and/or complex detail-oriented projects.
Preferred: Knowledge of fundraising strategies and philosophy. Experience with complex database systems. Prior experience in project management.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
