This position is a leave/coverage position designed to provide Speech and Language Therapy services for children birth-5 who are Deaf or Hard of hearing. The SLP in this position works Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm, following the school calendar, starting in November. The approximate length of this position is 3 months, with the possibility of extending, based on the status of the therapist on leave.

Candidates must be licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist and certified as a TSLD in NYS. In addition, educational experience/training working with children in a therapeutic center-based setting and expertise in auditory/oral/verbal methodology in working with children with hearing loss are preferred. The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for working with Early Intervention (birth-3) and Preschool aged children and their families using individual therapeutic activities, coordinating goals and objectives with other professionals, working with families and working with the Director of Clarke-New York. Bilingual candidates with fluency in Spanish or Chinese are strongly encouraged to apply.

Strong commitment to a listening spoken language approach and methodology for the development of spoken language skills for children with hearing loss
Effective planning and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
